Neurodevelopmental Assessments

Neurodevelopmental assessments help us understand how a young person learns, communicates, interacts with others, and experiences the world around them. They can provide diagnostic clarification, identify areas of support, and guide recommendations across home, school, and community settings.

At Attuned Mental Health, we take a strengths-based approach, recognising that every young person has unique abilities, interests, and qualities alongside any challenges they may be experiencing.

Assessment may include:

• Clinical interviews with the young person and caregivers

• Review of developmental, educational, and medical history

• Standardised questionnaires completed by parents, teachers, and the young person

• Assessment of attention, learning, executive functioning, social communication, and adaptive skills

• Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) assessments

• ADHD assessments

• Cognitive, intellectual, and educational assessments where indicated

• Assessment of specific learning disorders and other neurodevelopmental differences

Assessments may be completed by a psychiatrist, psychologist, or multidisciplinary team. Following assessment, we provide clear feedback, practical recommendations, and comprehensive reports where required.
